I think this comes from my dad.
I have heaps of memories of my dad cleaning
on Saturday mornings to everything from
Shaggy to Phantom to Queen!
To this day I can NOT
repeat CAN NOT
sweep or mop or put away clothes or drive or cook
without some music blaring!
Music is also the soundtrack of my life.
When I hear a song it can take me back to any memory

high school stomp (Destiny's Child - Survivor)
dating Jared (Lone Star - Front Porch Looking In)
Bostons first song he knew the words to (No Doubt - Hollaback Girl)!
{p.s. quite a coincidence that two of those were No Doubt songs - surprisingly not that big of a fan}
playing at my Aunt Vinas with cousins (The Proclaimers - 500 Miles)
dance auditions at HNS (Coolio - 1,2,3,4)
making music videos at Jessica Chappels (Brandy & Monica - The Boy Is Mine)
{Which was surprisingly reprised at the Hendrix Household 5 years later ;)}
freshman year of college (Dixie Chicks - Landslide)

I love music.
I love lyrics.
Right now one of my favorite songs is Katy Perry's, Roar!
My favorite line in the song is

I feel like every week I am trying to stress that to my girls at church.
I want them to know how important they are.
I want them to know who they are so that when life comes charging at them
tossing trials at them left and right that they will be able to endure each trial
with the knowledge that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them!
My other fav song right now is Sara Bareilles' Brave.
Not sure if you have heard it.
But it is GREAT!
I truly love every lyric in this song.
BUT
I get goosebumps towards the end of the song when she says...
"show me how big your brave is!"
We each put on a brave face everyday.
Everyday we have to do hard things!
Things that challenge us.
So, we put on our brave faces and we go out and do them.
We get to choose to embrace our weaknesses BUT not feed them!
The only thing better than this song is the music video!
Find your quirks, the thing that makes you different, and
STAND OUT!
You know the old saying that goes something like
".....be you because everybody else is already taken!"

I so love Sara Bareilles' Brave too. It has been one of the faves lately. I had never seen the video. It may seem weird but I both laughed and cried during the video. A lot going on lately and it stirred a lot of emotions in me. ;) I am also the same, music on at all times when cleaning, etc. Doubt you have a song that reminds you of me but if so lets here it.
Paige!!!! Totally laughed and cried when I saw the music video as well!! As for a song the two that pop in my mind are salt n peppa and Anastasia (the two we did the music videos to). I know both of those songs remind e of everyone in 313 but some I do have some things that are "strictly Paige!" You were the 1st person I ever saw beside my mom who ate zucchini. You would fry it in butter. Yum! I think of you every year on your birthday 25th of march...even if I forget to tell you! Also, you hold the record for most dates to come out of 313, most hours spent in the library studying, and sweetest girl ever! I sure love you and am grateful for your example...then and now!!
